Updated Evacuation Orders (Angel Springs Fire Wildfire)
As per the Lincoln County Sheriff’s office, effective 10 a.m. this morning, the Level 3 evacuation order has been lowered to a Level 2 evacuation order. Previous Level 2 evacuation orders remain in effect. Level 2 evacuation orders indicate there is a significant danger to your area, and residents should either voluntarily relocate to a shelter or with family/friends outside of the affected area, or if choosing to remain, be ready to evacuate at a moment’s notice.
8/7/18 Current Fire closures for the Crescent MTN fire (Crescent Mountain Wildfire)
Twisp River Road #4440 from the intersection with Buttermilk Road #43 to the terminus at Roads End Campground. South side Twisp River Roads #4430, #4435, #4440 from the intersection with Buttermilk Road #43 to the end at Twisp River Horsecamp. All trailheads and trails originating from these roads are closed. Travel on Thompson Ridge Road #4410 and Little Bridge Creek Road #4415 is not advised. Specific trail, road, and area closures and a closure map for the fire can be found at the Inciweb site listed

Aug. 7, 2018 Daily Update (Angel Springs Fire Wildfire)
YESTERDAY: Firefighters conducted strategic firing operations in all divisions of the fire to reinforce containment lines. Crews, engines and dozers worked to extend lines. Air resources focused on the northern and northeastern flank of the fire to cool down areas with heavy fuel loads. Structure protection firefighters continued to prep structures along the fire perimeter. Fire managers, in conjunction with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s office, amended the structure loss data. During night operations, firefighters monitored the fire, focusing on locations where strategic firing operations were conducted, to ensure heat and fire did not travel outside of established containment lines. The Community Meeting was held last night at the Davenport Grade School, with approximately 75 community members present. Maple Fire Daily Update - 08-07-18 (Maple Fire Wildfire)
Hamma Hamma, WA – The Maple fire is located west of Highway 101, northwest of Hamma Hamma. The fire is burning in heavy timber, 200ft trees, mature cedar spruce fir trees. Elk Lake trail runs through the middle of the fire and Jefferson Creek runs at the bottom of the fire. The fire is in a remote location and steep terrain. Resources have been ordered but due to a busy fire season, resources are in high demand across the region. Participating agencies in fighting this wildfire include the Olympic National Forest and Washington State Department of Natural Resources. Western Washington Incident Management Team (WWIMT) led by Kent Stanford, Incident Commander, assumed command of the Maple fire on August 6 at 6:00 pm. A Type 2 team was ordered on Monday and will be arriving mid-day Tuesday. The Type 2 team will be assuming command of the fire on Wednesday. Cougar Creek Fire:The Cougar Creek Fire is 20 miles northwest of Entiat, and is reported at 6,169 acres. A total of 700 personnel, including 15 crews, 4 aircraft, 36 engines and 9 bulldozers are being shared between the Cougar Creek and Lost Fires. Burnout operations along the west side of the Tyee Lookout were halted Monday afternoon as fire activity increased on the Cougar Creek Fire. The fire moved into the Grandma Creek and Young Creek drainages late in the day and remained active in to the early morning hours. Firefighters again monitored and patrolled the Entiat Valley during the overnight hours. Crews are headed back into the area Tuesday to reassess suppression options for the day, with aircraft available to assist firefighters on the ground in their attempt to hold the fire along Tyee Ridge. The NE Washington Type 3 Incident Management Team asks the public to avoid Sheep Creek road and surrounding areas due to fire apparatus. The Sheep Creek fire started on 30 July 2018 in north Stevens County near the town of Northport. The fire perimeter and acreage are unchanged and remain within the boundaries of Flagstaff and Sheep Creek roads. Falling crews continue to fall hazard trees along the line to improve safe working conditions for fire crews as they mop up. A team approach to managing wild fire (Sheep Creek Fire Wildfire)
August 6, 2018 – Contact: Megan Hill, Public Information Officer, (509) 939-5216 Northport, WA – The Sheep Creek fire near Northport, WA, has been burning since July 30th and is currently being managed by the Northeast Washington Interagency Type 3 Incident Management Team #3. There are over 350 people assigned to the fire, doing various jobs from working on the line to developing operations strategies to managing resources behind the scenes. This fire was originally managed by a National Type 3 Incident Management Team from Albuquerque, NM. The Washington State Department of Natural Resources had pre-positioned this team in the area when critical fire weather was expected. This team was staged in Colville; they were able to respond to Northport and begin managing resources very quickly. Two days later, the fire grew in size and complexity during a hot and windy afternoon. The local Northeast WA Type 3 team joined the New Mexico team and worked side-by-side for four days....

YESTERDAY: The northeast portion of the fire was the most active yesterday, with visible fire and smoke throughout the day and night. Firefighters concentrated their efforts in this area with crews, engines and dozers. Fire managers were able to continuously utilize four Fire Boss aircraft and helicopters throughout the day, to scoop water from the Spokane River arm of Lake Roosevelt, for drops over this flank. Firefighters in other divisions were able to strengthen the fireline to increase containment. A group of structure protection firefighters continued work to prep and evaluate structures ahead of the fire. Structure assessments within the fire area were conducted. With improved access and better mapping, additional destroyed structures were identified. It is important to note, these structures are not new losses.
