The Albuquerque Type 3 Incident and the North West Incident Type 3 Management Team are suggesting that the public avoids the sheep creek road and the surrounding area. Sheep Creek campground is still closed and are voluntary evacuation are in place for residents in the Sheep Creek area. The entrance of Sheep Creek road has been blocked off by the local Sheriff’s Department, and roads closures are in place for areas surrounding the fire. Final Update (Milepost 90 Wildfire)

Wishram, WA, - The Milepost 90 Fire started on July 31st, at approximately 4:30 p.m., near milepost 90 on Washington State Route 14 (Highway 14). The fire consisted of mainly grass with very little sage. it is located on private, the Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area, and Bureau of Indian Affairs lands.The fire’s size is 14,500 acres and is 85% contained. There were 135-105 firefighters working the fire. There have been no injuries and no confirmed structures lost. The fire burned approximately 8 miles long by 2 miles wide.Highway 14 was closed between Highway 197 and Highway 97, from Wednesday, when the fire began, through Thursday at 3:00 pm hours. Safety of both the firefighters and the public was the prime reason. The southern boundary of the fire was the highway’s pavement.Thursday at 6:00 pm, the Klickitat County Sheriff’s office eliminated all evacuation levels. Cougar Creek Fire and Navarre Fire New ReleaseENTIAT (August 2, 2018: 8:00 pm) CRITICAL COUGAR CREEK UPDATE LEVEL 3 EVACUATION (LEAVE NOW) Chelan County Emergency Management has raised the Evacuation Level to 3 as of 5:00pm. This means "Leave Now." The area is described as Potato Creek to the end of the Entiat River Road. Mad River to Potato Creek remains at a Level 2 for now.Current Activity: The Cougar Creek fire had several spotfires that advanced ahead of the fire. Air attack flew over the fire to gather information. Due to heavy smoke, crews are having a hard time getting an accurate size and location of the fire. Northwest Interagency Incident Management Team 11 (NWT11), Chelan County Fire Districts and mutual aid departments, and the Chelan County Sheriff's Office are working together to provide structure protection. Announcement - Evacuation Notice Expanded Around Rimrock Lake At 1 pm this afternoon the Yakima Valley Office of Emergency Management (OEM) posted that Level 3 evacuations have not changed but Level 2 Evacuations have expanded to the cabin groups at Andy Creek, Boot Jack, Russel Creek and Indian Creek Corral, Bear Creek and Bear Cove. Wishram, WA, - Steady progress continues to be made by the fire crews. The footprint has not changed appreciably since yesterday’s update. The entire fire perimeter is either a bulldozer dug line, existing roadways, and/or a combination of wet-line and hand-dug crew lines. Our mop up standard for the perimeter is 50 feet of black and around residences it is 100 feet.Last evening around 5:30, the fire crossed our control line and made an uphill run to the northeast. Helicopter water dumps helped crews to contain the breakout.Night crews were used the past two nights and will continue tonight. Last night hot spots were found and put out. The temperatures will be cooler, in the mid 80s, with higher relative humidities.The fire is still warm in the interior. These hot spots will be of concern today with the forecasted winds. The fire continues to burn in heavy timber, snags, and downed logs in steep inaccessible terrain. Crews continue to build containment lines. Historic containment lines from previous fires in the area are being reused and improved where appropriate. Several viewpoints are utilized to monitor and track fire behavior. Forecasted winds are expected to push the fire to the southeast up to a couple miles. The fire is also expected to grow on all sides less than 1/2 mile.
