Chetco Bar Air Quality, September 25, 2017 (Chetco Bar Fire Wildfire)
Smoke: Isolated interior areas of heat continue to pop up especially on the southwest side of the Chetco Bar wildfire. These areas are not posing a threat, however smoke produced from the burning material can travel towards communities. Smoke impacts continue to be mild to most of the area and may not be noticed until the evening hours when colder air tends to sink and pull smoke down with it. As we move into a hotter and drier weather pattern more isolated small smoke pockets may once again be seen.Fire: The main focus of fire personnel is securing and patrolling firelines. Repair work continues to happen alongside these operations, but only in safe areas that no longer pose a threat. Limited areas of heat are slowly burning themselves out as warm temperatures move into the area.Other: Agness should continue to experience a few hours of moderate air quality in the overnight and early morning hours, but the air-shed should clean out by early morning. The Brooking monitor is working...
Chetco Bar Fire Daily Update, September 25, 2017 (Chetco Bar Fire Wildfire)
With significant progress made on both the Chetco Bar and Indigo fires, personnel and equipment are being gradually released as the incident continues to be “right-sized” for current and expected fire activity and weather conditions. Today Firefighters continue to secure and mop up areas where pockets of heat remain while also backhauling equipment and repairing areas impacted by months of firefighting efforts. Isolated smokes persist within the fire interior and in difficult to access areas in the Meadow Creek, East Fork Pistol River, Emily Creek, and Illinois River drainages. Firefighters continue to work areas where – under certain conditions – the fire could potentially flare up and threaten containment, however, some areas may continue to smolder until the fire receives significant, season-ending rain. Safety Hazard trees present a high risk to firefighters working within the fire perimeter and are a consideration when forest managers determine the necessity of forest...

Eagle Creek Fire Daily Update 9/25/17 (Eagle Creek Fire Wildfire)
Focus continues to be on repair and cleanup of suppression efforts. Resource Advisors (READs) are working alongside fire crews to ensure cultural and natural resource values along with historic and recreational features are protected and preserved. One hand crew will proceed with their work near Wahtum Lake, low stumping and chipping along contingency lines on the south side of the fire. A hotshot crew will continue their work on the southeast side of the fire and will begin building water bars on a piece of hand line in this area. Crews have been scouting along Shellrock Mountain trying to identify a safe way for firefighters to engage with the active fire in this area. To date this has not been possible due to multiple safety concerns. Yesterday an engine was able to set up a sprinkler system on an area of live fire near I-84 where fire has been visible from the highway. Working and traveling on I-84 poses risks to fire crews and incident managers ask the public to continue to...

Umpqua North Complex Update September 25, 2017 (Umpqua North Complex Wildfire)
September 25, 2017 - 9:00 a.m. Fire Information: 541-378-6944 (8:00 am to 8:00 pm) Start Date: August 11, 2017 Cause: Lightning Fuels: Timber, forest litter, grass & shrubsAcres: 43,140 Percent Completed: 60% Current Situation: With the improving weather, warming temperatures and drying of muddy roads and dozer lines, fire suppression repair efforts on the 10 separate wildfires that comprise the Umpqua North Complex made great progress yesterday. Again, the Great Basin Incident Management Team #3 is not saying the fires are completely out. There are still plenty of isolated pockets of unburnt fuel, smoldering stumps and individual downed large logs that will continue to smolder and possibly burn more vigorously as temperatures continue to rise over the next few days within the various fire perimeters. Most are well within containment lines and pose little danger of escaping or spreading outside of containment lines. However, such as in the case of a section of line on the...
