Alder Lake Fire Update The Alder Lake Fire was ignited by lightning and first reported on Tuesday, August 11, 2015. The Gifford Pinchot National Forest, in coordination with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources, is currently managing the fire that is approximately 4 miles East of Elbe, Washington on the south side of Alder Lake. A Type 3 Incident Management Team is assigned to the fire. Current as of 8‎/‎ 29 /‎2015‎ Current Situation Total Personnel 157 Other Assigned Resources 4 Dozers, 3 Engines, 6 Type 2 IA Hand Crews, 5 Misc. Heavy Equipment, Overhead Size 275 acres (10% Contained) Fuels Involved Closed canopy timber, with heavy dead and down Fire Behavior Moderate fire behavior, creeping, rolling, and occasional torching. In steep rugged terrain that is inaccessible with 60% slope. Fire is progressing to the Southeast. Outlook Planned Actions Burnout as opportunities present themselves in Div A and C....

Carpenter Road Fire Update A High Wind Warning is in effect from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM with expected wind gusts up to 60 MPH. A Red Flag Warning will also be in effect from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM today. Last night crews worked diligently to prepare and re-enforce existing fire line around the entire incident in anticipation of todays increased wind over the fire. Firefighters received extensive information at this morning’s briefing about the hazards associated with today’s weather forecast. Crews in the north section of the fire will continue with line construction along the northeastern portion and will continue to look for safe opportunities to construct fire line around the north front. Firefighters along the northwestern edge will be doing the same thing, and has safety allows will work to construct new fire line to the north. Colville Complex Update Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, 9:00 a.m. Fire Information: 509-279-6795 goldhillmarblevalleyfires@gmail.com http://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/4562/# Yesterday’s Operations: Fire behavior moderated on the Graves Mountain Fire yesterday as all established control lines held and the uncontrolled fire edge on the north flank continued to back down into the Deadman Creek drainage. Fire line was completed on the east and west flanks to the ridgeline running east and west of Graves Mt. and mop-up operations to secure those lines continued. Mop-up on the control line on the south flank protecting Hwy 20 and the powerline corridor was completed. Due to the potential threat to structures and private property, the firefighters assigned to the north flank of the fire worked in conjunction with crews from the Kettle Complex to remove fuels around those structures and construct contingency lines to the north and south of Deadman Creek.
