9-15-20 Información Actualizada Final Sobre Los Incendios Pearl.. y Apple.. (Apple Acres Fire Wildfire)

 Hoy, el Equipo de Gestión de Incidencias del Noroeste 6 empezará a transferir gestión de los incendios Pearl Hill y Apple Acres a una organización tipo 3.  La organización tipo 3 empezará a gestionar el Incendio Pearl Hill el miércoles.  Los bomberos tendrán su base de mando en la escuela secundaria en Chelan.   En los días que vienen, los bomberos se continuaran a contener los incendios completamente.  Pero, tal vez, uno puede ver humo en el interior del incendio.  Ahora, los bomberos están apagando puntos calientes cerca de estructuras y 100 pies del perímetro del incendio.   Después de la lluvia que recibimos por la noche, el comportamiento del incendio será mínimo.  Hoy, se espera pequeña cantidad de lluvia como pasa un sistema de baja presión entre el área.  Northwest Incident Management Team 6 will be transferring management of the Pearl Hill Fire to a Type 3 team led by Incident Commander David Nalle on Wednesday morning. The Apple Acres Fire will transition to a local Type 4 organization consisting of DNR, USFS, and BLM personnel. The incoming firefighters will be shadowing the outgoing team members today for a seamless transition tomorrow. Firefighters from both fires will be based at Chelan High School.   As the fires near full containment, and even after full containment is achieved, interior pockets of fuel may continue to burn. As conditions change, smoke may become more visible at times. Smoke observed within the fire area is to be expected and will be no cause for alarm. Firefighters are working to mop up all hot spots near structures and inside the fire area within at least 100 feet of the outer edges of the fire.   Fire behavior will be reduced after last night’s rain. Inchelium Complex Update Sept. 15, 2020 (Inchelium Complex Wildfire)

Three fires currently burning in a mix of timber and brush on the Colville Indian Reservation comprise the Inchelium Complex: the Fry Fire, Inchelium Highway Fire, and Kewa Fields Fire.  All three fires are being managed for full suppression. The cause of the fires remains under investigation. Crews remain focused on point protection with an emphasis on structures and natural and cultural resources, and minimizing the footprint on all three fires. Current Situation: Yesterday on Inchelium Highway Fire crews discovered a small slopover on the northwest flank. It was quickly lined and crews spent the day mopping up and securing the area. The east, south, and west flanks of the fire have been holding, enabling firefighters to focus their efforts in and around homes and structures within the fire perimeter. Big Hollow Fire Daily Update - September 15 (Big Hollow Fire Wildfire)

The Big Hollow Fire is 15 miles northwest of Carson and 7 miles southeast of Cougar, Washington. Smoke, fog and a slight chance rain are forecast. Temperatures will be in the high 60s, with winds under 10 mph. Yesterday’s Operations: Crews continued firing in the west along roads 57 and 58, and prepped roads to burn a control line at the fire’s southern edge. Crews cleared fuels along roads S1000 and S6000 in the Siouxon Block and built containment lines. Crews monitored fire progress above the west ridge of Wind River Hwy, held the fire on Road 201 and scouted northeast for containment opportunities. Structure protection continued at Government Mineral Springs and sprinklers were installed. Crews prepped Trapper Creek Trail as a possible containment line in the southeast, but did not work in the Trapper Creek Wilderness. Whitney Fire Update - September 15, 2020 (Whitney Fire Wildfire)

(Lincoln County, Washington) – The Whitney Fire started on Monday, September 7, when a cold front created gusts in excess of 50 mph, resulting in extreme fire behavior and rapid fire growth. Fire crews, along with several organizations and agency cooperators, have made significant progress inside the fire perimeter. Incident management staff are scheduled to return this incident back to the local agencies at 8:00 am Thursday, September 17. Air quality will remain hazardous through the next few days as the smoke plume from fires on the West Coast continues to move through the area. Cooler temperatures, light wind, and a higher relative humidity means flare ups are less likely to spread. Firefighters are gaining control on the Reservation fires with little increase in acreages and new smoke production. Morning update 9/15/20 (Cold Springs Fire Wildfire)

 Omak, WA – Today: Crews will continue to work in the mill area breaking up piles of wood shavings that have been smoldering. The northeast portion of the fire has been the focus over the last several days and is now contained and in patrol status. Repair groups have been set up to start working on roads and fencing that were damaged during initial attack operations. Containment lines are being patrolled and crews are mopping up additional hot spots within the perimeter of the fire. Power companies are making progress with the help of firefighters that are clearing hazard trees around their work sites. The Cold Springs Fire started Sunday evening and is 188,852 acres with 60% containment. There are approximately 300 firefighters from local agencies and from around the region that are engaged in firefighting operations.  The Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of an infant and serious injury of 2 individuals that were found Wednesday within the fire...

 Omak, WA – Today the crews made additional progress on the fire line. They continued to secure the northeast portion of the fire, worked in the mill area, and secured in from the containment lines. There are several areas of the fire that are in patrol status and those areas are looking good. The repairs to fencing and roads that were damaged during initial attack are being looked at and repaired. Crews will continue assisting the power companies with hazard trees near the power lines to make their work areas safe. Commissioner of Public Lands Hillary Franz visited the Cold Springs Fire command post in Omak. The Commissioner met with Tribal, Federal, State and local officials. Both the Pearl Hill and Apple Acres fires are approaching fullcontainment after days of firefighting effort, recently aided byshading from the heavy smoke layer. Structure impacts: Since the Labor Day fire start, localfirefighters have directly protected about 100 residences fromburning within the perimeter of these two fires. The overall firesuppression effort kept an additional 1,000+ homes from harmby stopping the advance of the fire. To date, 26 residential andcommercial structures have been verified as burned by the fireand additional assessments are underway. Resources: While a sufficient force of firefighters is beingretained, many firefighters and crews are being reassigned orsent home for some well-earned, if temporary, rest. PNW Incident Management Team #12 will be holding a virtual community meeting on the Gifford Pinchot Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/GiffordPinchot on Tuesday September 15 at 5:00 PM. The meeting will be streamed via Facebook Live on the Gifford Pinchot Facebook page.The team will be giving an update to the current situation of the fire, as well as the current and predicted weather, fire behavior, and the leader’s intent from the incident commanders. Questions can be left on this post as well as during the virtual meeting, and staff will try to answer them to the best of our ability at the end of the presentations. The Whitney, Babb-Malden and Manning fires all started on Monday, September 7, when a cold front created gusts in excess of 50 mph, resulting in extreme fire behavior and rapid fire growth.  Firefighters continue making significant progress on all three fires. Air quality will remain hazardous through the next few days as the smoke plume from fires on the West Coast continues to move through the area. A cold front with gusts up to 18 mph may arrive today, which brings a 20 percent chance of scattered showers and possibly some relief from the smoke. These gusty winds will be the first test of the containment lines.
