7/30/18 Smoke Outlook (Natchez Fire Wildfire)
Fire Smoke has been limiting fire behavior until it clears in the mid-late afternoons (which may not happen today). Anticipated increases to relative humidity in the next several days could dampen fire activity and smoke emissions. Smoke Poor air quality conditions persist throughout outlook area as transport winds have been weak at lower levels. General transport of smoke has shifted at upper levels, possibly bringing smoke from California fires northward. Communities directly downwind from fires are expected to have the worst air quality, resulting from down valley winds which are likely to transport smoke as evening time sets in. Communities adjacent to the fires are expected to feel the greatest impacts to air quality. Other Additional smoke monitors have been placed in the communities of Agness and Gold Beach. For relief from smoke, travel to the coast, or north of the Umpqua

COMMUNITY MEETING TILLER RFPD STATIONTUESDAY JULY 31, 2018 6:30 PM Fire fighters have been able to increase containment on te South Umpqua Complex to 16% in spite of the steep terrain, dry fuels, hot temperatures, and active fire behavior. Miles Fire burned actively after 4 PM and through the night. Embers from the main fire blew to the south, starting spot fires toward Ragsdale Butte and Gobblers Knob.
