Smoke Outlook for 9/17 - 9/18 - North Central Oregon (Riverside Fire Wildfire)

Inciweb Articles OR - September 17, 2020 - 10:19am
Special Statement The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality AIR QUALITY ADVISORY has been extended through Saturday, September 19, for Oregon state, excluding the coastal region.   Fire Heavy smoke yesterday continued to moderate fire behavior by reducing high temperatures at area wildfires. At the Lionshead fire, high humidity, cooler temperatures, and light winds will develop only creeping and smoldering fire behavior today. This afternoon, rain showers and thunderstorms are possible as a low-pressure system works into the area. Clouds and rain showers are expected through Saturday.   Smoke For most of the day, light winds and cooler temperatures will trap mostly "unhealthy" levels of heavy smoke across Central Oregon. Some relief will be seen overnight as winds help to scour stagnant smoke out of the area. Forecast heavy rain on the west side of the state should serve to reduce smoke production and its transport into the forecast area. Smoke from Northern California will...
