8/10/2018 Natchez Fire Update (Natchez Fire Wildfire)
Weather: A cold front will decrease temperatures slightly today. It will be partly cloudy with increasing winds and decreasing smoke. Morning winds will be from the S-SW, but shift to W-SW in the early afternoon at 15 to 25 mph in the saddles, gusting to 30 mph on the ridgetops. Humidity will drop as the trough begins pushing dry air downwards. Gusty winds are expected through Saturday. Sunday through Tuesday will bring another warming, drying pattern. South Valley Fire Daily Update - August 10 (South Valley Fire Wildfire)
Dufur, OR – Current Status: Team 2 will transfer the command of the ODF South Valley Road Fire to an ODF Type 4 Team (IC Blair) working for the Oregon Department of Forestry - The Dalles Unit Office.Following a joint briefing of the two teams at 7:00 a.m., official transition did occur today at 8:00 a.m. The teams spent yesterday shadowing and sharing information to successfully complete the mission. The main responsibility of the Type 4 organization will be to complete any remaining mop-up, patrol the perimeter, and finalize any suppression repair needs. The Type 4 Team (IC Blair) will have the following re-sources assigned: 5 Type 6 engines, 3 hand crews, 1 dozer, 1 skidgine, 1 water tender, 2 helicopters and 3 overhead personnel until the District releases them.Afterwards, the local ODF fire staff will patrol the fire and monitor for smokes frequently throughout the remainder of fire season. 100% containment was achieved at the end of shift Thursday, August 9.This is a very large...

Come by the Agness Community Library, 3905 Cougar Lane, Agness, OR on Friday, August 10th at 6pm. The OR Department of Forestry, US Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management are working together to advise fire managers. Natchez Fire Information (New Number): 530-493-1524, 7:00 am – 8:00 pm Community Meeting: There will be a Fire Information meeting at 6:00 pm, tonight, Thursday, August 9th, at the Grange in Happy Camp. Weather: Continued hot, mostly sunny with areas of smoke. Winds will be SW in the morning at 10-15 mph with gusts to 20 mph on ridgetops. Afternoon winds will shift westerly and down valley. Windy conditions will continue through Saturday night before a warming and drying pattern returns. Maximum temperatures: Low 100’s in Happy Camp to 80’s on ridges. South Valley Fire Daily Update - August 9 (South Valley Fire Wildfire)
Dufur, OR – Current Status: Last night was the final night shift on this incident. These crews have worked long and hard and have an excellent safety record of no injuries. They will get some much needed rest today and be rolled over into the next day shift plan.Today, crews will focus on meeting the District’s mop-up standards and patrol the fire perimeter and unburned islands. All the hard work putting out this fire will be tested this week by the predicted high temperatures and gusty winds.
