Hydrologic Outlook issued December 26 at 2:44PM PST by NWS Seattle WA

December 26, 2024 - 2:44pm
ESFSEW Additional frontal systems will bring precipitation to Western Washington at times through the weekend. While precipitation will be much less with the systems beginning Friday, the lack of much of a break will keep rivers over the Southwest Interior rising into the weekend. The potential for the lower reaches of the Chehalis River to flood on Saturday continues to be monitored. Please monitor the latest river forecasts from the National Weather Service for additional information. However, there are two time periods when snow levels appear likely to rise to 5000-5500 feet and be far enough above the passes to temporarily limit snow accumulations. The first window where snow levels will rise above the passes appears most likely to occur between 3 AM Friday and 9 AM Friday. Another round of warmer air aloft will most likely push snow levels above the passes Friday night as well.
