COLUMBIA BASIN OF WASHINGTON MONDAY...
.Persistent dry and hot conditions will continue across the
region through Monday. Widespread breezy to windy conditions
through the Cascade Gaps and the lower Columbia Gorge and
persistent dry conditions have lead to elevated fire weather
concerns.
The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Fire
Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in
effect through Monday evening.
* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 690 Kittitas Valley and 691
Lower Columbia Basin of Washington.
* TIMING...Through Monday evening.
* WINDS...West 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 18 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread
quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM PDT Monday.
* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses. Extreme heat
will significantly increase the risk of heat-related illnesses for
much of the population, especially those who are heat sensitive
and those without effective cooling or adequate hydration.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Temperatures are expected to peak on Sunday.
Afternoon highs may reach as high as 105 degrees across the lower
Columbia Basin.

* Winds: West-Northwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
* Relative Humidities: 18 to 25 percent in eastern half of zone
696 including lower river valleys around Leavenworth, Ardenvoir,
and lower Lake Chelan increasing to 30-40% closer to the crest.
