Red Flag Warning issued July 13 at 2:06PM PDT until July 14 at 11:00PM PDT by NWS Medford OR
...Complex fire weather environment evolves this weekend...
.Hot, dry and windy conditions will remain in place over most of
Oregon today, and approaching monsoon moisture from the south
will increase the threat of lightning across the forecast area
beginning today and even more so on Sunday. Storms will likely be
dry today given a very dry sub-cloud layer. The threat for storms
is higher on Sunday as the moisture content increases and storms
become a mix of wet and dry.
* IMPACTS...Given the recent prolonged stretch of very hot and
very dry conditions, lightning efficiency will be high to very
high for fire starts. Any fires that develop will likely
spread rapidly.
* AFFECTED AREA...Eastern portions of FWZ 621, east of the
Jackson/Josephine county border.
* THUNDERSTORMS...Isolated to scattered high based storms that
are likely to have very little to no precipitation,
especially outside of storm cores. Lightning strikes outside
of precipitation cores are possible and cause for concern.
* OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusts up to 35 mph. These outflow winds can
travel up to 50 miles away from the thunderstorm that caused
it.
* ADDITIONAL INFORMATION...The best chance for storms will be
Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening, but isolated thunderstorms
are possible late tonight into Sunday morning. Storms are
likely to be dry tonight due to a very dry sub-cloud layer.
Storms will trend wetter on Sunday, but remain a mix of wet and
dry storms.

Red Flag Warning issued July 13 at 5:04AM PDT until July 13 at 8:00PM PDT by NWS Pendleton OR
...HOT, DRY, AND UNSTABLE WITH A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS OVER
SOUTHEAST OREGON THIS WEEKEND...
...DRY AND BREEZY CONDITIONS IN THE COLUMBIA BASIN AND KITTITAS
VALLEY SUNDAY...
Hot, dry, and unstable conditions look to continue through the
weekend with a chance at thunderstorms now on Sunday that could
rise up into the region. Meanwhile breezy winds and low RH's may
produce critical fire weather conditions for the Columbia Basin
and Kittitas Valley on Sunday.
* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 642 Southern Blue and
Strawberry Mountains.
* WINDS...West 5 to 10 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 9 percent.
* TEMPERATURES...Up to 99.
* IMPACTS...For the Red Flag Warning - Any new and existing fires
have a strong potential for extreme fire behavior. For the fire
weather watch - New fire starts with cloud-to-ground lightning
should be expected with any storms that develop. Gusty outflow
winds will threaten fires with rapid growth.
* THUNDERSTORMS...Any storms that develop will initially have
little to no rainfall, but will be capable of producing
strong, gusty outflow winds.
* OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusts of 35 to 50 mph possible.
* HAINES...As high as 6.
