Evacuation Level Update for Camp Sherman Area (Lionshead Fire Wildfire)
Jefferson County Oregon Sheriff Announced September 19, 2000 at 11:59 a.m. - Due to favorable weather conditions and increased fire suppression of Lionshead Fire in the area near Camp Sherman in Jefferson County, the Level 1 and 2 evacuation notices are being removed, with the exception of the structures along the USFS 1499 to Monty Campground that will remain in a level 1. Be advised that there are still USFS Area Closures in place for safety

Two Four Two Fire Daily Update - 2-20-2020 (Two Four Two Fire Wildfire)
Fire Summary:There will be a virtual community meeting via Facebook Live at 7pm to-night. Hear from incident leadership and community leaders on successes and resources available for support after the fire. This will be the final community meeting. Firefighters worked throughout the day yesterday extinguishing heat next to the containment line. This is labor intensive work as they dig out stump holes and open up dozer berms to expose buried heat under the dirt. Last night crews continued to patrol for visible hot spots along Highway 97 and Highway 62. Crews worked through the night to extinguish what they could and marked areas they did not get to for the day shift. It will be warmer and drier with light winds over the fire area today. The extended weather forecast shows an increasing chance of precipitation over the fire late this week. Firefighter and public safety is the priority during this incident, including COVID mitigation. Special Statement The AIR QUALITY ADVISORY for non-coastal areas of the State issued by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality remains in effect. Fire Fire activity on the Riverside, Beachie Creek, Lionshead, and Holiday Farm fires has slowed significantly. Internal smoldering of large stumps and deep roots is keeping smoke levels high within and around the fire parameter. Internal pockets and dense understory will continue to smolder throughout the coming week. Smoke The entire Willamette Valley will see ongoing relief from last week’s heavy smoke event. Additional firefighters and engines join Beachie Creek fire Air resources flying again Salem, Ore. – Five additional engines, another hot shot squad and crews from Canada join firefighting efforts Sunday on the Beachie Creek fire. BRATTAIN FIRE UPDATE September 19, 2020 @ 9 AM Yesterday: After five consecutive days of Red Flag conditions, a frontal passage brought erratic winds, but cooler temperatures and increased humidity. No precipitation was received but crews were able to stop the forward progression of the fire in the northwest and southeast corners last night. This was accomplished with the support of eight helicopters, Crews finished mopping up along the northeast quadrant of the fire; all resources were moved to other priority areas. Crews and heavy equipment continued to widen and strengthen lines and conduct hoselay operations in the south and suppress a few hot spot fires near Clover Flat Road. A local timber company constructed a contingency line tying into the Ben Young burn scar. Crews will continue to look for hot spots and continue mop-up operations.
