STATE OF OREGON - DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY - FIRE RESTRICTIONS REGULATED CLOSURE PROCLAMATION Number 01 Effective 1:00 a.m., PDT, July 6, 2020 By virtue of the authority vested in me under the provisions of ORS 477.535 to 477.550, I hereby proclaim a Regulated Closure to be in effect in the following subject area: All lands protected by the North Cascade Forest Protection District, and all lands within one-eighth mile thereof. Under this Regulated Closure it is unlawful to be in violation of the following restrictions: Smoking is prohibited while traveling, except in vehicles on improved roads, in boats on the water, and other designated locations. Open fires, including campfires, charcoal fires, cooking fires and warming fires are permitted all day during low () fire danger with landowner permission. Open fires are only allowed at locations designated by the forester during moderate (high () fire danger. All open fires are prohibited during extreme fire danger ()....

UPDATE 9-12 (Babb-Malden/Manning Fires Wildfire)
The Babb-Malden, Manning and Colfax Fires started on Monday, September 7, 2020. Babb-Malden Fire - Approximately 15,266 acres have been burned and the fire is at 25% percent containment. The cause of the fire is under investigation. 121 primary residence structures have been destroyed. 8 Commercial and 94 other structures have also been destroyed. Crews continue to patrol the town of Malden and Pine City. Today's fire operations focused on suppression activities, putting out hot spots within the fire perimeter. Crews have made good progress on this fire. Pine City-Malden Road is currently closed to the public from the west side of Pine City to the east side of Malden. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is changing the evacuation levels for the Whitney Fire area. All areas north of State Route 2 remain the same. Changes to evacuation levels are all south of SR 2, they are:All Level 3 (go) are now level 2 (get set). Property owners in these areas can return to their properties, but should remain ready to go if conditions change.All Level 1 areas ( get ready) south of SR 2 remain level 1 at this time.Updated maps are not available at this time, but are forthcoming.Safety Message: Areas within the fire perimeter still continue to smolder and produce smoke. Whitney Fire Update - September 12, 2020 (Whitney Fire Wildfire)
(Lincoln County, Washington) – The Whitney Fire is located six miles northwest of the town of Davenport, WA. Fire is burning in timber, sagebrush, range and farmlands. As crews begin to make better progress on the fire, the number of personnel needed for the incident is evaluated. Approximately 150 firefighting personnel continue to diligently work on the Whitney Fire with several organizations and agencies working to manage the fire. Fire officials continue to assess the total loss to primary and secondary structures. Yesterday: A control line, consisting of dozer line, ag circles (a type of irrigated farmland), roads, and handline, has been completed around the perimeter of the fire. Within the fireline, crews monitered areas of unburned fuels. Firefighters continued mopping up hotspots within islands of grass and brush near structures. Firefighters are taking advantage of the cooler weather and making progress in building fire line around the perimeters. The fire has not experience significant growth in the last 48 hours. The Kimberling Fire, east of Rose Lodge, has a fire line around the perimeter and hose lays are in progress. Mop-up is planned to commence later today. Mop-up activities consist of digging up hot spots using hand tools and following with water. It is tedious work that could take days before the fire is considered out. The larger portion of fire near Otis, crews are working to establish fire breaks using hand crews in steeper areas and dozers to re-open roads for control lines. The majority of the fire perimeter does not have control lines established yet. 9/12 update (Evans Canyon Wildfire)
The Evans Canyon Fire started on the afternoon of Aug 31, 2020 and is located in Yakima and Kittitas Counties in the Evans Canyon area. The fire is being managed by a Type 3 Incident Management Team with the primary focus on mop-up and suppression damage repair. All evacuation orders have been lifted and some area closures remain in effect due to the Washington State Fire Commissioners orders. Archie Creek Fire Update, September 12, 2020Fire Update: Fire information: The Archie Creek Fire burning east of Roseburg is now 115,857 acres and is at 0% containment. It is burning in the North Umpqua drainage on the west slope of the Cascades. There are 369 people assigned to the fire. Current Situation: Fire fighter and public safety is the number one priority. Access to fire areas are limited due to smoke inversion and blocked roads. Large tracts of private and federal timber lands continue to be threatened. Electrical transmission lines are damaged or are threatened. Recreation areas and resorts are closed due to the fire. Progress is being made with structure assessments, protection of structures, use of roads, power infrastructure, containment of fire, and opportunities for future containment. The Big Hollow Fire is located approximately 15 miles northwest of Carson and 7 miles southeast of Cougar, Washington. Temperatures will be slightly warmer today with the high around 70. Light winds and smoke are expected. Yesterday’s Operations: Growth occurred in all areas of the fire. The region filled with thick smoke from west coast fires, which diminished fire behavior but also decreased visibility. Crews continued to construct control lines using heavy equipment in the DNR Siouxon block. The northeast was scouted for potential containment line locations. Crews began to prep the cabins at Government Mineral Springs for fire protection. Crews conducted firing operations along the 57 road to slow fire spread south. Inchelium Complex Update Sept. 12, 2020 (Inchelium Complex Wildfire)
Three fires actively burning in a mix of timber and brush on the Colville Indian Reservation comprise the Inchelium Complex: the Fry Fire, Inchelium Highway Fire, and Kewa Field Fire. All three fires are being managed for full suppression. The cause of the fires remains under investigation. Crews remain focused on point protection with an emphasis on structures and natural and cultural resources, and minimizing the footprint on all three fires. Current Situation: Mop up on the west side of the Fry Fire continued yesterday and the fire remains relatively secure. Light southerly winds made firefighting difficult on the northern ends of both of the larger fires as smoke restricted the use of aircraft. The Inchelium Highway Fire pushed over a primary line on the northwest flank late yesterday, but remains within the secondary containment strategy. Morning update 9-12-20 (Cold Springs Wildfire)
Omak, WA – Over the last 24 hours crews have made significant progress on the fire and it’s now 40% contained. Yesterday and overnight containment lines were strengthened, and additional line was constructed by dozers and crews. The northeast portion of the fire which consists of Omak Lake and Haley Creek areas are the main priority at this time. The plan for today is to strengthen containment lines by working in from the perimeter. Smoke conditions are expected to worsen from the fires in the south. Aircraft will assist firefighters once again today if the smoke conditions allow. Omak Lake and Haley Lake area are still under level 2 and 3 evacuation levels. Power companies are working in the area to replace several hundred poles that were damaged or burned in the fire. Firefighters will continue to work with power crews to clear trees that have burned to keep the area safe to work in.
