Hydrologic Outlook issued January 31 at 3:20AM PST by NWS Seattle WA
ESFSEW
Lighter rainfall today will be followed by periods of moderate to
heavy rain tonight through Wednesday. This will bring the potential
for additional river flooding and an increased threat for
landslides. The Skokomish River in Mason County is expected to again
rise above flood stage. There still does remain a fair amount of
uncertainty regarding the location and amount of heavy rainfall,
which has maintained lower certainty in the potential for river
flooding elsewhere in the outlook area.
Please monitor the latest river forecasts from the National Weather
Service for additional information.

Special Weather Statement issued January 31 at 12:45AM PST by NWS
Areas of dense fog are noted across the region, but with showers moving in, the expectation is that this will help breakup the fog through the morning hours. Be on the lookout for low visibilities and difficult driving conditions in foggy areas.

Special Weather Statement issued January 30 at 2:49PM PST by NWS Seattle WA
Rainfall of one to five inches over the past few days has increased
soil moisture to high levels across western Washington. Heavy
rainfall of up to 1 to 3 inches is expected through Wednesday,
especially in the higher elevations.
This amount of rain will put extra pressure on soil instability,
leading to an increased threat of landslides.
Two landslides have already been reported in various locations in
western Washington including the Leschi neighborhood in Seattle and
near Union. More landslides are possible.
For more information about current conditions, visit
www.weather.gov/seattle, select Hydrology, and then scroll down
for the links to the landslide information pages.
For more information on landslides, visit the website for the
