Hot, dry, and unstable conditions continue with a slight chance
of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening primarily in the area
around the Strawberry Mountains. Meanwhile, breezy winds and low
RHs are expected to continue to produce critical fire weather
conditions for the Columbia Basin and Kittitas Valley this
afternoon and evening.
* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 641 Lower Columbia Basin of
Oregon, 690 Kittitas Valley and 691 Lower Columbia Basin.
* WINDS...West 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 10 percent.
* IMPACTS...The combination of sustained wind and low relative
humidity will result in conditions conducive to rapid fire
spread and extreme fire behavior.

...DRY AND BREEZY CONDITIONS EXPECTED IN THE LEE OF THE CASCADES
ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING...
Breezy winds, hot temperatures, and low relative humidity values
will occur over the area on Sunday afternoon and evening. This
will result in an elevated fire risk on existing or new fires.
The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a Fire Weather
Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from
Sunday afternoon through Sunday evening.
* Affected Area: Fire Weather Zone 705 Foothills of Central
Washington Cascades (Zone 705) and Fire Weather Zone 706
Waterville Plateau (Zone 706).
* Winds: West 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
* Relative Humidities: 10 to 18 percent.
* Impacts: The combination of gusty winds, low relative humidity
values, hot temperatures, and dried fuels could lead to rapid
fire spread on existing or new fires.
