the river including headwaters, tributaries, and other streams
within and near the Skokomish River Basin.

A line of thunderstorms is moving across Snohomish County and
northern King County this morning. Local ponding on roadways will be
possible over the next few hours as the band tracks into the
Cascades.
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Washington,
including the following counties, in northwest Washington, Island.
In west central Washington, King and Snohomish.
* WHEN...Until 845 AM PST.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 549 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. This will
cause urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor
drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory
area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...

Skokomish River At Potlatch affecting Mason County.
.The Skokomish River at Potlach is currently in moderate flooding.
The river is expected to rise into major flooding this morning
before falling tonight into Thursday.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Skokomish River at Potlatch.
* WHEN...Until Friday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, the Skokomish River will cause major, near
record flooding throughout the Skokomish Valley. Deep and swift
flood waters will inundate residential areas, many roads including
SR 106, and much of the farm land. Flooding will occur all along
the river including headwaters, tributaries, and other streams
within and near the Skokomish River Basin.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 4:30 AM PST Wednesday the stage was 17.9 feet.
- Flood stage is 16.5 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 4:30 AM PST Wednesday was 17.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise to 18.1 feet late this
morning. It will then fall below flood stage late this
evening to 15.5 feet tomorrow afternoon. It will rise to 15.8
feet early Friday morning. It will then fall to 15.3 feet
