Skokomish River At Potlatch affecting Mason County.
.Persistent wet weather over the area has caused sharp rises in the
Skokomish river, with flooding expected to begin this evening. As
rain continues over the weekend, these higher water levels may
linger.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Skokomish River at Potlatch.
* WHEN...From this afternoon to tomorrow morning.
* IMPACTS...At 16.5 feet, the Skokomish River will cause widespread
flooding of pasture lands, with water flowing quickly over West
Bourgault Road and Skokomish Valley Road.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:30 AM PDT Friday the stage was 15.5 feet.
- Flood stage is 16.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage this
afternoon to 17.0 feet early this evening. It will then fall
below flood stage tonight to 14.4 feet by late Monday
morning. It will rise to 15.1 feet early Tuesday morning. It
will then fall again and remain below flood stage.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of

At 933 AM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm
capable of producing a landspout 19 miles west of Bandon, or 31
miles northwest of Port Orford, moving east at 45 mph. This storm
should reach the coast by 955 AM PDT.
HAZARD...Landspouts, wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph, and nickel size
hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Gusty winds
could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured
objects.

accumulations will be above 4500 feet in the central Oregon Cascades.
* WHAT...Heavy wet snow. Additional snow accumulations up to 6
inches up to 5000 feet. Snow accumulation up to 15 inches above
5500 feet. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
* WHERE...Cascades of Lane County.
* WHEN...Until 5 PM PDT this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road
conditions. Reduced visibility possible in areas with gustiest
winds and falling snow.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow showers will increase again on Saturday
evening above 5000 feet. Snow amounts will be less than 10 inches
and will not impact the passes.
