NOAA Current Watches
Winter Weather Advisory issued February 5 at 1:54AM PST until February 6 at 4:00AM PST by NWS Portland OR
...OCCASSIONAL LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS EXPECTED THROUGH WEDNESDAY, MIXING
WITH RAIN OR CHANGING TO ALL RAIN FOR ELEVATIONS BELOW 1000 FEET
DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS...
.A round of scattered snow showers are expected to lift from south
to north over northwest Oregon and southwest Washington from the
coast to the Cascades Wednesday morning between 4 AM and Noon,
resulting in minor travel impacts in some areas below 1000 feet with
more widespread travel impacts likely above 1000 feet. That said,
some areas below 1000 feet will see very little to no snow
accumulation at all due to the light and showery nature of this
precipitation. Snow showers will transition to rain showers or a
rain/snow mix Wednesday afternoon for elevations below 1000 feet as
temperatures warm. Above 1000 feet, snow showers will linger through
the day.
* WHAT...Snow. Additional snow accumulations between 3 and 8 inches.
* WHERE...South Washington Cascades and the Northern and Central
Cascades of Oregon.
* WHEN...Until 4 AM PST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous.
